Regulations of certification and accreditation in China

Administrative Measures on Organic Product Certification

Updated by Adopted by State Administration For Market Regulation of the People’s Republic of China on September 2022, is the top level regulation/policy in organic field.

Organic Standard GB/T 19630-2019

National Standard of the People’s Republic of China “GB/T 19630-2019 Organic product-Requirements for production, processing, labeling and management systems ” develops the requirements for the production, processing, trading, labeling and management system of organic product.

This standard applies to the production of organic plant, animal, and microbial product, the processing of organic food, feed, textiles, etc., and the packaging, storage, transportation, labeling, and marketing of organic products.

Implementation Rules for Organic Product Certification

The Rules specify the general requirements of process and management for organic products. The activties including certification, production, processing, and handling of organic products in the territory of the People’s Republic of China shall comply with the Rules.

The certification activities for organic products imported from countries or regions, which have not signed a harmonized memorandum for the equivalency of an organic certification system with the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as CNCA), shall comply with the Rules; countries or regions which have signed harmonized memorandum shall comply with the relevant provisions of the memorandum.

Organic Product Catalogue

Chinese organic standard defines a product catalogue, only the product listed in the catalogue can be certified as organic product
